GCC office setup in India: the first six months
Most GCCs aim to have a working floor inside the first six months, while hiring, the legal entity and payroll are set up in parallel. This is how the office work can fit that plan. Timings depend on size and building approvals.

Brief and shortlist
Fix the three-year headcount, the functions that will sit here, the city and a budget band. Collect your parent company's workplace and security standards. Shortlist two or three buildings and test-fit each one.
- Weeks 4 to 8
Lease and design
Check the fit-out period, rent-free window and the landlord's fit-out guidelines before signing. Freeze the layout, specifications and itemised quote, and start approvals.
- About 8 to 16 weeks
Build
Our 2026 benchmarks put a 5,000 sq ft Basic fit-out at about 8 to 10 weeks and a 10,000 sq ft Medium fit-out at about 12 to 16 weeks. Fire, electrical and HVAC are planned in from day one.

Move in and ramp up
Handover with a written checklist, then a helpdesk, vendor management and moves, adds and changes as the team grows from the first seats to the next floor.

GCC office interiors: what is different from an ordinary office
- Parent-company standards. Global IT, security and brand guidelines translated into drawings and specifications your approvers can sign off.
- Zoning and access. Separate secure areas for sensitive teams, controlled entry and clear visitor routes.

Our 2026 rate card puts office interiors at about Rs 1,800 to Rs 5,000 per sq ft of carpet area, excluding GST, depending on specification and city. Scope, specifications, timelines, payment stages and exclusions are written down and shared before you commit, and quotes are itemised so you can compare offers fairly.
